Ambassadors
Our ambassadors are people who, through their ideas and activities, help to build the Green Capital and motivate others to live more sustainably. They help the city to create new initiatives and grow a more environmentally friendly community. Green Capital ambassadors support Vilnius in its ambition to create a clean and safe city for our generation and future generations.


Rugilė Matusevičiūtė
Sustainability writer, climate change activist, member of Oxford University's Climate Journalism Programme, EU Climate Pact ambassador, and organizer of the Nature Friends' Nature Camp.

Žymantas Morkvėnas
A naturalist who took his first steps on this path during childhood in the green spaces of Vilnius. He has been working in environmental protection for over 25 years and currently leads one of the most experienced environmental NGOs, the Baltic Environmental Forum. He is also a member of the Lithuanian National Commission for UNESCO and the Council for State Progress.

Silvestras Dikčius
Broadcaster, columnist and sustainability educator. As an independent expert on climate change, he shares practical insights on everyday ecology. He uses his example to show that living in Vilnius with a smaller carbon footprint can be fun and colourful. He says that small lifestyle changes not only bring personal benefits, help to be healthier and spend less but also give a sense of meaning that everyone can experience by becoming a green city creator.

Laura Petruškė
Architect, educator, and creator whose work bridges architecture, upcycled design, and creative placemaking. She is one of the founders of the association Idėjų Lysvė (Idea Garden), a European Union Climate Pact ambassador, and the initiator of the Replastico2 project, which promotes the creative recycling of plastic bags.

Viktorija Nausėdė
The Circular Textile Economy expert, the European Climate Pact Ambassador, the Looptex founder and sustainability activist. For almost a decade already, Viktorija has been looking for solutions how to elongate the stories of objects and put the circular fashion economy into practice.

Mantas Brazdžionis
Mantas is a traveler and communication specialist who actively shares his discoveries on social media (mantas.br). Mantas has been living in Vilnius for many years and appreciates the city not only as a dynamic place but also as a space where nature harmoniously blends with urban life. It is important to him that the capital remains green and that the environment is respected. Mantas believes that Vilnius can serve as an example of how a city and nature can coexist in harmony.

Milda Paukštė
Sustainability project developer, journalist, and creative entrepreneur, Milda is the founder of the "DĖK'ui" gallery – a space dedicated to environmental education and creative workshops – and the denim upcycling studio "Denim Diaries." In recent years, she has actively spearheaded the creation of "DĖK'ui" clothing sharing racks in various communities. With more than 30 racks now installed in libraries, business centers, educational institutions, and cafes, Milda believes this is only the beginning!

Marija Meišutovič-Akhtarieva
Dr. Marija Meišutovič-Akhtarieva holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering. Her work spans air quality research—both ambient and indoor—along with aerosol dynamics and sustainability. She is also involved in the development of water and wastewater policies. Passionate about science-driven solutions, she is dedicated to crafting innovative environmental strategies that address today’s most pressing ecological challenges.

Kristina Maldonienė
An education and labor market projects coordinator, spreading the message about sustainable iniciatives in Vilnius within her communities. For over 10 years, she has been passionately promoting practical lifestyle: encouraging the purchase of second-hand items and responsibly passing them on to others instead of throwing them away. May every unused item find a new home!
