EDU Vilnius
Is an institution of the Vilnius City Municipality for improving the quality of education in the capital.
Vilnius sveikiau
Seeks to motivate people to live healthier lives and develop healthy habits; it shares relevant information, continuously analyses the health literacy and status of Vilnius residents, and improves the health of Vilnius children and pupils.
Judu
Is responsible for organising public transport services and parking infrastructure in the city and for promoting sustainable ways of travelling. The company also ensures the smooth organisation of the city’s traffic and, together with Vilnius City Council, implements innovative solutions to create a walkable Vilnius.
Neutralus klimatui Vilnius
Is a competence and advocacy centre established by the city municipality in October 2022. Our vision is to achieve climate neutrality and climate resilience in Vilnius.

Manages the modernisation processes of multi-apartment buildings. It provides information to the public on the benefits of renovation of multi-apartment buildings, advises on issues related to the renovation of multi-apartment buildings, manages multi-apartment renovation projects and implements the Neighbourhood Programme. The institution’s initiative “Let’s Renew the City TOGETHER” encourages active city residents and the capital’s community to create a more beautiful and climate-neutral greener city.
Vilniaus parkai
Provides professional and high-quality maintenance of the green spaces of Vilnius city — parks and garden squares — and carries out design, maintenance, inventory and monitoring services for green areas. Our vision is for the parks and public spaces of Vilnius to flourish.
Vilniaus vandenys
Is responsible for managing the entire water cycle renewal, from extraction and supply to treatment and return to nature. “Vilniaus vandenys” supplies drinking water and manages wastewater for more than 600,000 residents in Vilnius and the districts of Vilnius, Švenčionys, and Šalčininkai.
VAATC
Ensures that all of the city’s waste is managed in the best and most economical way. In addition to waste management activities, it also focuses on activities to minimise the generation of waste and to ensure that the waste generated is disposed of properly and sorted conveniently.
Vilniaus apšvietimas
Are experts in city lighting, having become the creators and leaders in the field of the Vilnius city lighting standard. They specialise in the modernisation and development of the lighting network, providing services ranging from lighting repair and maintenance to architectural and decorative lighting design.
Šilumos tinklai
Is the largest district heating and hot water supplier in Lithuania. The Vilnius city company takes care of 760 kilometres of heat supply routes, which bring heat and hot water to the homes of more than 220,000 Vilnius residents. The largest production facility is Vilnius Power Plant-2, located in the south-western part of the city and generating heat and electricity from biofuels and natural gas.
VASA
Is responsible for organising an efficient waste management system. The company’s aim is to ensure that waste is managed, collected and sorted efficiently, thus contributing to a more sustainable environment. VASA educates and encourages the residents of Vilnius to take an active part in the waste sorting process, and ensures that waste management services are of high quality.
Libraries
Vilnius County Adomas Mickevičius Public Library
Was one of the first libraries in Lithuania to adopt the “Sustainability Declaration”. The library is guided by the declaration in its daily activities, as well as in the organisation of educational activities, events, and other activities. The library has book exchange shelves where readers can leave unwanted books and take home the ones they like.
Central Library of Vilnius City Municipality
Is a single, unified library system consisting of 16 public libraries in Vilnius. In 2024, we introduced another mobile library — the bibliobus. An informational and cultural institution with a special focus on the needs of the socially weaker sections of the community, mobilisation and development of local communities, and organisation of leisure time of Vilnius residents.
Museums
Museum of Urban Wooden Architecture
Presents and promotes historical and new wooden city architecture. The museum was founded in Užupis between 2019 and 2022 as part of the project “Creation of the Museum of Wooden Architectural Heritage in Vilnius at 52 Polocko Street” funded by the EU and the Vilnius City Municipality. The project, in line with the principles of sustainable development, involved the restoration of the house’s wooden structures and decorative elements, and the adaptation of the building to the needs of today’s museum.
Film festivals
Uncomfortable Cinema
Has been the only international human rights documentary festival in the Baltic States since 2007. Although non-commercial and uncomfortable, it is one of the most popular film events in Lithuania, attracting more than 18,000 viewers every year.

Is a non-profit, public organisation that has been active in the field of environmental protection for more than 20 years, focusing on biodiversity conservation, agri-environmental protection, rural development, nature tourism, sustainable development, management of hazardous chemicals, and corporate social responsibility.
